In short

  • Oveluni has five tracking areas: Medications, Cycle, Daily check-in, Doctor appointments and Women's health.
  • Each area turns on and off on its own; when you turn an area off, your past records in it are not deleted.
  • You'll find the setting via the gear at the top right of every tab: Settings > My tracking areas > Tracking settings.
  • Cycle and Women's health open in the women's profile; you choose your profile type under Settings > My account > Gender.
  • A few records kept regularly are often more useful than trying to log everything and then giving up.

When you first open a health app, it can feel like you have to fill in every field you see. But maybe all that matters to you is your medication plans, or just your daily mood. In this guide we walk you through turning Oveluni's tracking areas on and off one by one, when it helps to keep each area on, and what happens to your records when you turn one off.

Why track only what you need?

Keeping records is useful for as long as you can keep it up. Trying to note five different things every day can feel tiring after a few weeks, while filling in a single area regularly builds a meaningful history over time. Resources on personal health records also point out how much it matters that your information is organized and easy to find.

It makes sense for privacy, too. Information you don't record isn't stored anywhere. Just as you check what data an app collects when you choose it, it's up to you to decide what you actually want to write down while you use it. Fewer areas mean less clutter, and it's easier to find something when you look for it. For a general checklist on this, take a look at 6 things to check when choosing a health app.

The five tracking areas in Oveluni

In Oveluni, your records are grouped into five tracking areas. Each one covers a different need:

  • Medications: your medication plans, your medication logs (taken or skipped) and your medication reminders.
  • Cycle: your period days, with records such as start, end and flow intensity.
  • Daily check-in: your mood and energy during the day.
  • Doctor appointments: your appointments, check-up dates and their reminders.
  • Women's health: pregnancy and postpartum records.

The Cycle and Women's health areas open in the women's profile. You can choose Woman, Man or Prefer not to say as your profile type; your choice decides which areas are listed. You can change your profile type whenever you like.

Turning tracking areas on and off, step by step

It only takes a few taps, and you can change it whenever you want. You don't need to create an account or set anything up from scratch; the change you make only decides which areas you'll use:

  1. Open Settings. Whichever tab you're on, the gear icon at the top right opens the same Settings screen.
  2. Scroll down to My tracking areas. Here you'll see the Tracking settings and Dashboard preferences options.
  3. Tap Tracking settings. The five areas are listed according to your profile type.
  4. Turn areas on or off one by one. Turn off the area you're not using right now, and turn on the one you need.
  5. Check your profile type. If you can't see the Cycle or Women's health area, check your profile type under Settings > My account > Gender.

Which areas should you keep on? Three example setups

There's no right setup, only the one that fits your needs. Still, these examples might give you some ideas while you think about where to start:

  • Someone who takes medication regularly: keeps the Medications and Doctor appointments areas on. Seeing medication plans and check-up dates on the same calendar makes it easier to remember what you've been taking, and since when, on your way to an appointment.
  • Someone who wants to follow their cycle: turns on the Cycle area in the women's profile and, if they like, adds the Daily check-in to make sense of days with things like pain or tiredness. We explain how to start logging your period in Tracking your period days in Oveluni.
  • Someone who wants to get to know themselves better: turns on only the Daily check-in. They note their mood and energy with a record that takes a few seconds and look at the weekly summary.

As the seasons of your life change, your setup can change too. Turning on Medications when you start a new medication, adding Women's health during pregnancy, or keeping only the most important area during a busy stretch is entirely your call. Reviewing the setting every few months keeps the app focused on what you really use.

What happens to your records when you turn an area off?

Turning off a tracking area doesn't mean deleting the records in it. Your past records are kept; when you turn the area back on, you can pick up where you left off. This lets you shape the app around the season of life you're in.

A few examples:

  • You've finished a short-term medication and aren't taking anything regularly right now: you can turn off the Medications area and turn it back on later if you need it.
  • Your pregnancy is behind you: even if you turn off the Women's health area, your records from that time aren't deleted.
  • You only want to follow your mood: you can keep the Daily check-in on and turn the others off. We explain how to use this area in our Daily check-in in Oveluni guide.

This approach has one more benefit: later on, you can turn an area back on and see your old records alongside your new ones. For example, if you start the same medication again months later, your logs from the earlier period are still right where you left them.

If you really want to delete your records, that's a separate step, and you do it from the privacy section in Settings. Turning off a tracking area doesn't make that decision for you.

Set up your home screen and reminders to match

Once you've chosen your tracking areas, reviewing two more settings makes things easier. In Dashboard preferences, you can reorder the cards on the Today screen and choose whether each one appears on the home screen. That way the area you check most often stays at the top. If you also want to change the app's language, see our guide to using Oveluni in your language.

Reminders are managed separately. In the Reminder settings section in Settings, you can turn medication, daily check-in, check-up and pregnancy week reminders on and off individually. No reminder marks a check-up as completed on its own; you always enter the record yourself. If you don't want medication names or check-up details to show in your notifications, take a look at the Notification privacy settings as well.

Oveluni reflects your records; it doesn't diagnose, interpret or make predictions. Whichever areas you track, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any question related to a symptom, a medication or a pregnancy. Your records are stored on this iPhone; there's no automatic cloud backup or analytics tracking. A Premium membership covers all five tracking areas, and you can find the app's other features on the Features page. Oveluni is coming soon to the App Store.
